Founded in Olathe, Kansas, Garmin employs more than 15,000 associates around the world including over 4,000 in the Kansas City area. Service-oriented from day one, Garmin is a longtime supporter of the Greater Kansas City United Way and received its 2019 Pinnacle Award for leadership in corporate philanthropy and community engagement. Garmin proudly sponsors many organizations, such as United Way of Greater Kansas City, Boys and Girls Clubs, Girl Scouts and the American Cancer Society, as well as events and professional athletes that align with the markets we serve. In choosing what charities to partner with the organization must be a designated 5013C, some health related, educational efforts especially those that are stem focused, try to ensure diversity efforts, picking different agencies, research and spreading support for a variety of community organizations and local impact areas
